Its going well

Well I have finished my first book "A Bessing in Disguise"  and it taugtht me that "the grass is never greener on the other side"

The young girl wanted every thing she could not have and did not realise she had better

She wants her father, nightclub owner and drug pusher and all round bad sort, she has aunt and uncle who love her teach her right from wrong and feeds and clothe her. It takes the death of half-sister and a bullet to tell her that all she needs is love from those that love her.

All children should read this it teaches so much about growing up ....It took me back to days when I had to look after my mother instead of playing with friends. I'm so glad I cared for my mother she taught me so much more about life and right and wrong.

My next book "Breaking the Silence" is well underway and I'll be back with a review of this one too !!

Why do I read upside down ??

This is me .... Reading book number 1 upside down !!!

I thought you might like a little background as to why I read upside down !!! so here goes ....

When I was little My Mum was diagnosed with and disabled by M.S. Being a carer for her, along with my Dad, I got behind with school work ..... so my English teacher said try reading books upside down. As your brain takes the information in differently and you store it better.

It seemed to work for me as I have lots of random knowledge tucked away in my brain for those useless pieces of information discussions LOL. I also found it helped with my recovery from 2 Mini Strokes that I had some years ago.

Reading upside down has been a point of discussion with many people I have met on buses trains and planes.."Excuses me your books upside down" then the story begins to be told ...

Its the ones that dont say anything, yet you can see them looking at you puzzled .....

What must they be thinking LOL ???

In memory of Cpl Derek Wyatt

My reading journey starts tomorrow, with books I have decided to read upside down.

Some old, some new, some funny, some serious, some with passion, some with a purpose.

I hope some of them you will buy or lend from the library to  help you on your journey in life.....a couple are very close to my heart and have helped me through bad times.

If you can recommend any please do so as I still have some letters still needing to be filled.

I am doing this in memory of Cpl Derek Wyatt

 Cpl Derek Wyatt was killed 6th December in the service of his country.

On the 7th December his wife had his son

In 24 hours she was a widow and a mother. This child is fatherless.

We have all lost people we love we can only imagine her loss and joy!

mixed emotions but mostly grief and loss.

Help for Heros A-Z Sponsored Book Read

My name is Stella I am an avid reader .....my way.... upside down. Iam trying to raise money to help soldiers and their families get the help they need ....it may be help to pay bills or get treatment they otherwise may wait a long time for....the only way I thought I could help raise money is my art of reading books .....since I was 11 years old I have read books upside down (the book not me)

I want to read 26 books as quick as I can, I will start from A through to Z (titles that is) ....may read some I have read before others will be new and a journey still to be walked with new authors....I will start 1st January 2011 and this blog will record all books with synopsis along the way.

Why do I want to do this... a new friend bought to my attention on facebook that a solider died in Afghanistan 6th December 2010 Cpl Derek Wyatt next day his wife gave birth to his son ....his wife in just a short while became a widow and a mother .....the baby boy is now fatherless ....they both need our help in what every way we can and if reading books is my way, so be it

Help the Heroes started in 2007 by Bryn and Emma Parry this couple are Heroes in their own right they have achieved so much in so short a time ....they help in so many ways not just the soldiers coming home and their families but also the ones NOT coming home the loved ones they leave behind need help too....from hospitals to rehab and new homes adapted for them to live better lives with their disabilities......the most high profiled persons that support this venture is Prince's William and Harry...all money donated goes to help soldiers affected by injuries in wars...not some of it.... ALL OF IT.......these soldiers give so much not just a better worldfor us to live in... but also limbs,eyes, hearing and most have given their LIVES please donate as much as you can THANK YOU........
